Denis Aliu-Northeastern University  2006

"I want to thank you for all these years of support. It’s been a real pleasure knowing you.  I can’t put it in words how much your help meant to me. Almost four years ago, I entered Northeastern University. As a newcomer to this country, I had limited resources to afford an education such as that offered by Northeastern. But your assistance made it possible. It is thanks to you that now I am proud to graduate from Northeastern University.  My desire for excellent academic results was in part influenced by my silent commitment to be and deserve the title of a Stephen Phillips Scholar.  In addition, serving the community remains a promise of mine which I will always try to reward.”

Seamus Kraft-Georgetown University 2007

"I cannot impress upon you enough how much the support of the Phillips Scholarship means to me and to my parents. To pause and think of all those friends who would be strangers, all those memories that would yet be dreams, all those answers that would still be questions were it not for your help is frightening.  I can only feel warm at your assistance and hope that Providence will continue to shine upon me so that I, too, may be able to assist hungry students in the future"
